Treatment projects from my graduate studies at the Winterthur/University of Delaware Program in Art Conservation (WUDPAC), summer internship sites at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and Gawain Weaver Art Conservation, and in my third year internship placements at The Better Image and the Museum of Modern Art.


THIRD YEAR TREATMENT PROJECTS


FRANCESCA WOODMAN, BLUEPRINT FOR A TEMPLE II, 1980, DIAZOTYPES AND SILVE GELATIN PRINTS︎︎︎

Assited in the treatment, hinging, and installation of this once-believed lost 14-foot tall collage while also working closely with an NYC gallery and artist foundation on the project.  

YENI Y NAN, INTEGRATIONS IN WATER, 1981, 48 COLOR INSTANT PRINTS (POLAROID)︎︎︎

Developed and executed treatment procedures to reduce significant adhesive residues on recto and verso of this assemblege of 48 Polaroid photographs.

CAPEL CURE, [PHOTOGRAPHS], 1856, ALBUM WITH ALBUMEN SILVER AND SALTED PAPER PRINTS︎︎︎

Photograph album containing over 140 albumen and salted paper prints with various condition issues such as tears, distortions, and lifting from page. Additional treatment to aid in cataloging included removing old accession numbers from pages.


ANSELM KEIFER, DIE SEFIROTH, SILVER GELATIN PRINT WITH APPLIED MEDIA︎︎︎

Large silver gelatin print with significant losses across the center of the piece. Treatment included extensive consolidation and inpainting to reduce the apperance of the losses.

MING SMITH,  VARIOUS PRINTS, c. 1970s-80s, SILVER GELATIN︎︎︎

Treatment of four gelaitn silver prints by Ming Smith for an art museum in Maryland. Works were in varying conditions, which required different treatment options catered towards each print.

CINDY SHERMAN,  UNTITLED #546 (WATER NYMPHS), 2010/2012, CHROMOGENIC PRINTS︎︎︎

Large chromogenic diptych damaged in a water event. Treatment involved reducing the appearance of tidelines along with adhesive reduction and minor cosmetic compensation.

Torn Silver Gelatin POP

EDWARD BRINGHURST,  SHIPLEY-BRINGHURST-HARGRAVES PANORAMIC PHOTOGRAPH, c. 1905, SILVER GELATIN POP︎︎︎

Fragmented small panorama photograph. Treatment included mending, consolidation, crease reduction.
Torn Albumen Prints

FELIX BONFILS, 104 CAIRE, VUE GENERALE DES PYRAMIDES, c.1876—1885, ALBUMEN PRINT︎︎︎

Five albumen prints by Felix Bonfils with various skinning, losses, and surface grime. Treatment included surface cleaning, consolidation, tear mending, and filling partial and complete losses.

Silver gelatin photograph on satin texture paper with tears and significant surface grime. Treatment included surface cleaning, tear mending, and crease reduction.


Distorted Albumen Prints

ANDELPHOI ZANGAKI, VISITE DE CIMITIER, c. 1860—1890, ALBUMEN PRINT︎︎︎

Two moderately distorted mounted albumen prints from the Univeristy Museums of the University of Delaware. Treatment included unmounting, flattening, and rehousing.  

TALLADEGA COLLEGE ARCHIVES︎︎︎

Photograph Conservation Block project focused on the treatment and rehousing of a collection of over 120 photographic materials from Talladega College.

BASEBALL TEAM, 2018, RESIN-COATED PRINT︎︎︎

Torn resin-coated print included tear mending and mounting with dry-mount press. Treatment conducted at Gawain Weaver Art Conservation while I was a Summer Graduate Intern in 2022. 

Inkjet Print

CHRISTOPHER MAKOS,  ANDY WARHOL WITH MODEL, c. 1987 (2006 PRINTING), INKJET PRINT︎︎︎

Pressure-sensitive photo-corner adhered to recto of print. Treatment included the removal of the photo-corner and aesthetic compensation.

TUSKEGEE UNIVERSITY ARCHIVES︎︎︎

Photography Conservation Block project focused on the treatment and rehousing of over 60 photographs from the Tuskegee University Archives. 
Kiki Smith, Woman, 2008, silver gelatin print

KIKI SMITH, WOMAN, 2008, SILVER GELATIN DOP︎︎︎

Severely distorted mounted silver gelatin print due to water event. Treatment included extensive surface cleaning, unmounting, and  flattening.

FIRE-DAMAGED PHOTOGRAPHS︎︎︎

Collection of various photographic prints and small family albums that were damaged in a house fire in Ohio. Treatment included surface cleaning and rehousing.

FAMILY PHOTOGRAPH, c. 1940s, SILVER GELATIN DOP︎︎︎

Significantly faded print with minor tears and losses. Treatment included surface cleaning, tear mending, and digital enhancement of the print.

RENE MAGRITTE (cover design), MINOTAURE, ISSUE 10, 1937, OFFSET LITHOGRAPH︎︎︎

Treatment of a Minotaure periodical as a pre-program intern at the Menil Collection in preparation exhibition in the Surrealist Galleries. Treatment included adhesive reduction, tear mending, extensive aesthetic compensation.
